Registration is now open for a new edition of the SmartUP Academy workshops to be hosted by the Warsaw University of Technology
13 February 2019
Students aged 15-19 who are interested in joining the first workshop organized as part of the spring edition of the SmartUP Academy may sign up by 22 February. The first classes dedicated to the design of modern drugs will be held on 23 March at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology. Students may enrol in the sessions of their choice offered as part of a programme of six chemistry and biochemistry workshops, and attend them free of charge.
SmartUP Academy is a project that we launched in partnership with the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology in 2015. It is a series of academic workshops in chemistry and biochemistry, which combine theory with practice. The first session to be organized during this year’s spring edition will focus on drug design and will take place on 23 March. Registration will be open until 22 February. The workshop schedule is as follows:
- 30 March – Electrochemistry for everyone: where does the driving force in redox reactions come from?
- 13 April – Microcosm – our little brothers in arms or our enemies and how to recognize them
- 11 May – Smart coloured cosmetics: a myth or the future?
- 18 May – ELISA or Western, that is the question
- 1 June – A needle in a haystack: who has used explosives?
All the sessions can be attended by students aged 15-19 who have filled in the form available in the “Workshops” section on our website by the specified date and briefly outline the reasons why it is them that should participate. What is important, applications can be filed by students from all of Poland, as the cost of travel will be refunded to those who live more than fifty kilometres away and decide to use public transport to come to our classes.
The SmartUP Academy project is sponsored by the European Social Fund as part of the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development. Thus far, more than 280 students have attended our workshops thanks to the support of the European Union.
