Students aged 14-19 can sign up for the 6^th edition of the programme starting on 2 September. From October, they will have the opportunity to participate in an alternate reality game where they will play the role of young research interns. As in the previous years, those with the best scores in the multi-stage recruitment process will be offered a year-long educational mentoring programme and scholarships.

Applicants can sign up for the 6^th edition of the ADAMED SmartUP educational programme from 2 September. This is just the beginning of the recruitment process where students will have the opportunity to learn the principles of critical thinking by playing a memory game available on the website. This is a not-for-score stage of the process. The real competition will start in October with our alternate reality game. Registered users will play the role of young research interns at the ADAMED SmartUP University, and will be challenged to solve science riddles in biology, medicine, chemistry, computer studies, and astrophysics, divided into 10 themed folders. Interns will check the tasks assigned for mistakes using the heuristic techniques they had learned earlier. They will also be able to get support from other University staff members who will be sharing their knowledge and experience.

“Each year, the recruitment game for ADAMED SmartUP applicants is a challenge both for the participants and for us as we want to ensure that it is both appealing and has valuable scientific content. There is a completely different competition in each edition of the programme. However, the criteria we use to assess the players are the same. In addition to knowledge, we require a creative approach to the problems and the ability to combine seemingly unrelated facts. This year, for the first time, young research interns at the ADAMED SmartUP University also have the opportunity to practise and apply their critical thinking skills. They can expect a lot of fun and a good dose of knowledge,” says Martyna Strupczewska, Manager of the ADAMED SmartUP Programme.

Recruitment is open to students from Poland aged 14 to 19. All they need to do is register on our website and solve scientific problems while playing an alternate reality game. In the next stages of the process, the best players will be asked to send their application and have an interview with members of the programme’s Scientific Council. Afterwards, 50 applicants will be invited to the ADAMED SmartUP camp and explore the fascinating world of science.
