THE SPRING EDITION OF THE ADAMED SMARTUP ACADEMY IS OVER
3 July 2022
104 students aged 14-19 took part in the spring edition of the ADAMED SmartUP Academy workshops, held on-site at the Warsaw University of Technology. The workshops were an opportunity for participants to enhance their knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology, as well as to perform experiments and conduct research under the guidance of experienced scholars.
Just as in previous years, the ADAMED SmartUP Academy sessions were hosted by the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology. Some of them were co-moderated by the staff of the Adamed Research and Development Center. The programme also included a novel element – workshops organized for the first time at the Faculty of Physics.
A total of 18 weekend workshop sessions were held, enabling participants to e.g. check how much energy we consume while cycling and what tastes we associate with particular colors of medicines. They also had a chance to build their own hologram, which they then used to make further discoveries in the world of optics.
We are delighted to have been able to resume ADAMED SmartUP Academy on-site classes. “The ability to perform independent experiments in professional laboratories is always very attractive for young people and the ADAMED SmartUP programme has always foregrounded practical learning,” says Martyna Strupczewska, Head of the ADAMED SmartUP programme.
The ADAMED SmartUP Academy series will return after the summer, when the new school year begins, and just as before, it will offer open and free classes for teenage science buffs. Details about the themes addressed, the dates and terms of participation will be provided on an ongoing basis on our website in the Workshops section, as well as in social media. We encourage you to check them regularly.
