Almost 90 years have passed since the discovery of the first antibiotic by Alexander Fleming. He did not know he had discovered something that would revolutionize medicine and save millions of lives. Antibiotics are still being used in many therapies, and what’s more, they are being researched and refined. We all use them, but do we know how they work?
