Since 2019, the educational and scholarship ADAMED SmartUP Program has been carried out also in Vietnam. The students of the Polish-Vietnamese Friendship Secondary School in Hanoi are invited to take part. This was where the qualification tests for the 4th edition of the Vietnamese Program took place at the beginning of October. This year, over 500 students took part, which is the highest number so far.

Traditionally, the students joined the test to check their knowledge in the natural sciences. Moreover, the participants’ linguistic skills were also significant as in the second stage of the recruitment, the fluency in English was evaluated. Based on the summed-up results from both tests, we selected no less than 201 participants to join this year’s edition of the ADAMED SmartUP Program.

On Sunday, 23 October, they took part in the formal inauguration. Moreover, Hoa and Hoan, the previous year’s Program winners, also took part as Ambassadors. These two talented teenagers visited Poland this year in July for the ADAMED SmartUP summer science camp.

“It is very satisfying that since 2019, when the first Vietnamese ADAMED SmartUP Program was launched, the interest among the students in Hanoi has been continuously growing. The aim of the Adamed Foundation is to support the development of talented and ambitious students. The past four years have convinced us that there are a lot of such people in Vietnam. We are extremely proud that thanks to our initiative they can discover their potential and strengthen their abilities,” says Martyna Strupczewska from the Adamed Foundation.

As part of this year’s edition, every week we will conduct English classes with native speakers and science workshops prepared by the Polish expert from Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Piotr Osiński. The 4th edition of the ADAMED SmartUP Program in Vietnam will continue until the end of the school year 2023, but this will not be the end of the science adventure for three of the participants.

The active participation in this year’s meetings and final test results will help select the winners of the main award of this year’s ADAMED SmartUP Program. Like in the previous year, the most promising alumni will visit Poland.
