ADAMED SmartUP in the Responsible Business Forum’s report

A scientific and educational programme, ADAMED SmartUP has been included into the 14th edition of the report entitled ‘Responsible Business in Poland’. Good Practices, prepared by the Responsible Business Forum. A project concerning corporate social responsibility carried out by the Adamed Group has been awarded in the area of local community involvement and development. The official announcement of the Report took place during a conference held at the Muranów Cinema in Warsaw on 31 March 2016.

The Report published by the Responsible Business Forum is an overview of activities within the scope of corporate social responsibility carried out by companies that are active on the Polish market. The activities are classified into seven areas according to the ISO 26000 standard: organisational governance, human rights, labour practices, environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues, and community involvement and development.
The Report shows the data for the previous year – in this case 2015. This year’s edition presents a record-breaking number of good CSR practices – 811. The Report is available at http://odpowiedzialnybiznes.pl.

The Report presented the main assumptions behind the project conducted by the Adamed Group Foundation. The main objective of the ADAMED SmartUP programme was emphasised: to popularise physical and natural sciences; supporting the development of passion and interests in talented youth was mentioned as well. The main elements of the programme – a scholarship programme for young people aged 15-19 and an Internet platform www.adamedsmartup.pl containing materials that enable extending knowledge of exact science were referred to as well.

According to the definition of the European Commission, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is “the responsibility of enterprises for their impact on society”. This impact is multidimensional; it manifests itself in enterprises taking care of the environment, employees and working conditions.
The main role attributed to CSR in the modern economy is the functioning based on similar values and recognising the importance of people in the functioning of an enterprise and then introducing the principles of social responsibility in all areas of its activity. ADAMED SmartUP programme is one of many activities within the scope of the CSR carried out by the Adamed Group.
