Registration is now open for our science workshops to be organized as part of the SmartUP Academy for students aged 15-19 who are passionate about physical and natural sciences. All the classes will be taught at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology and participation is free of charge. We will also refund the cost of transport to those attendees who are planning to travel from locations that are 50+ kilometres away from Warsaw.

The autumn edition will be an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge of electrochemical reactions and micro-organisms as well as learning about innovative techniques of explosives trace detection. The first workshop focusing on modern drug design and biotechnological drug development strategies will be held on 12 October.

How to apply

If you are interested in taking part in the SmartUP Academy workshops, please fill in the online form available on our website in the “Workshops” section. Registration is open to students aged 15-19 who did not participate in the spring edition of the programme.
Applicants from across the country are welcome. Those travelling from locations that are 50+ kilometres away from Warsaw will receive a refund of the cost of public transport.

• 26 October 2019: Smart coloured cosmetics: a myth or the future?
• 16 November 2019: Microcosm – our little brothers in arms or our enemies and how to recognize them
• 23 November 2019: Electrochemistry for everyone: where does the driving force in redox reactions come from?
• 30 November 2019: ELISA or Western, that is the question
• 7 December 2019: A needle in a haystack: who has used explosives?

The SmartUP Academy workshops organized by the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology in partnership with the Adamed Group’s Foundation are sponsored by the European Social Fund as part of the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development. Thus far, more than 1,100 students from across Poland have participated in the science workshops offered during prior editions of the programme.
