The recruitment game for the 8th edition of the ADAMED SmartUP Programme finished on 15 January. Almost 11,500 teenagers from all over Poland interested in exact and life sciences registered as candidates. This is the highest number of applicants in all recent editions.

The participants of the online game had the opportunity to take part in a school trip to the Institute of Nuclear Research, explore a spaciotemporal tunnel in a shut-down reactor, as well as meet Stanisław Lem and scientists from various periods. The game included tasks, puzzles and questions which required the participants to use logical thinking skills and link facts to win points. The maximum score was 205 points. All players won a total of 76,700 points.

“In each edition of the ADAMED SmartUP programme, we prepare tasks which present an intellectual challenge and are entertaining for the participants. This approach facilitates the dissemination of knowledge in areas such as biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering, astronomy or medicine. We are happy that so many students who are passionate about exact and life sciences have signed up for the recruitment stage. In further stages, we will create a short list of the most talented teens,” says Martyna Strupczewska of the Adamed Foundation.

In the upcoming days, the participants with the highest score in the recruitment game will be invited to fill out recruitment applications on a special platform. Having examined all applications, the Scientific Board of the programme will invite short-listed candidates for individual interviews.

Fifty students who score highest in all stages of the recruitment procedure, will go to an innovative science camp planned for July 2022. Ten students will receive the main prize, i.e. a year-long programme of educational consultations, following which three of them will receive scientific scholarships, each worth PLN 40,000.
