THE ADAMED FOUNDATION SUPPORTS CHILDREN FROM UKRAINE
13 April 2022
Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Adamed Foundation has decided to contribute to helping the youngest refugees.
The Adamed Foundation has been supporting children and the youth for years, also helping to improve their academic performance. Therefore, faced with the war in Ukraine, it has decided to assist the youngest Ukrainian citizens seeking refuge in Poland.
Conscious of the desperate plight of Ukrainian children from children’s homes and foster families, the Adamed Foundation has first decided to donate PLN 50,000 to the SOS Children’s Villages Association. The Association, which operates as part of a group of multiple aid agencies, offers assistance on the ground in Ukraine, organizes transportation to take the children to a safe place and manages their stay in Poland.
Other activities of the Adamed Foundation include donating school starter kits to Ukrainian pupils enrolled in Polish schools. In April, 2100 children will be equipped with backpacks, school accessories and art supplies. The school starter kits are donated with the help of central and local government institutions in Lublin, Rzeszów and Warsaw.
The Foundation has also provided teaching aids in Ukrainian, developed as part of the ADAMED SmartUP programme. On YouTube, you can find a playlist entitled “Akademia ADAMED SmartUP z napisami ukraińskimi” (“ADAMED SmartUP Academy with Ukrainian subtitles”). The first translated videos have already been uploaded. They have been designed for teenagers and young adults aged 14-19 and focus on selected themes in exact and life sciences. Further resources which will come in handy to both pupils and teachers will be gradually uploaded to the channel.
We are confident that our contribution will help to support children who have had to face the atrocities of war.
Together, we can do more!
